However good you are, though, you won’t be able to sculpt that next masterpiece with your fingers! Food colouring. If you’re looking to truly optimize what you’re capable of doing when it comes to cake decoration, you’ll need a wide variety of colours to help your designs come to life. Gel colouring is far more effective, as unlike normal food colouring, it won’t fade with time, so your designs will always look as vibrant as when you created them (if they haven’t been eaten by then!).
