Cake Decorating Comes To The iPad

Wilton Enterprises, experts in cake decorating, quality bakeware and food crafting for more than 80 years, unveiled a new iPad application which brings the world of cake decorating to the popular tablet computer.

The free Wilton Cake Ideas & More app enhances the way decorating enthusiasts browse and access Wilton’s wealth of information, including more than 3,000 cake and treat ideas, recipes, how-to videos and decorating techniques. In addition, the app brings the ideas from the highly anticipated annual Wilton Yearbook of Cake Decorating online for the first time.

“We are committed to evolving the cake decorating experience by bringing a traditionally offline activity to life across emerging platforms such as the iPad,” says Eric Erwin, executive vice president of marketing and product development for Wilton. “Our new app offers a visually vibrant, engaging and interactive experience to decorators everywhere.”

The app enables decorators to find the perfect treat to decorate for any occasion, providing step-by-step techniques and recipes in an approachable and interactive, touchscreen format.

Key features of the Wilton Cakes & More iPad application include the ability to:

• Browse large and vibrant photos of more than 3,000 amazing cake, cookie, cupcake, and other treat decorating ideas
• Filter ideas by treat type (e.g. cookie, cupcake, etc.), occasion, theme, idea rating and difficulty level
• Search ideas by keyword
• Enable a ‘Decorate Mode’ for any idea which makes it easier to follow step-by-step instructions on screen while decorating
• Bookmark favourite ideas
• Read ratings and reviews of treat ideas from other decorators
• Access questions and answers from the Wilton community relating to specific treat ideas
